Praise for The Bible House 1917 Scofield KJV

The Bible House reset of C. I. Scofield's 1917 KJV study Bible is a finely crafted work that should please any serious Christian interested in the history of significant study Bibles. This edition has been sharply printed and reorganized with references to the left and right of the page to allow room for your own notes. The leather edition (likelyRead more about review stating Praise for The Bible House 1917 Scofield KJV a fine quality, sturdy calf skin) is nicely done by Jongbloed in the Netherlands. Curiously, this authorized KJV edition favors the Cambridge peculiarities, although Scofield first had Oxford print it. The only errors I've noted thus far (quite minor) are a mistake with the top chapter indication "HEBREWS 12, 13" at the top of page 1370, which should read "HEBREWS 13", and Luke 22:30 has "thro-nes" instead of "thrones". No doubt such errors will be corrected in subsequent editions -- so the reader should keep an eye out, just in case other mistakes show up, I suppose. Whether or not a Christian can agree with the occasional dispensational comments of Scofield, which includes the manner and timing of Christ's promised return, one should be reminded of the significance of Christ crucified (1 Cor. 2:2) balanced with our Lord's words at Matt. 24:36 and Acts 1:7 and the apostle Paul's comments through the Spirit at 1 Cor. 13:2 -- after which, note Scofield's comment about 1 Cor. chapter 13 at the bottom of page 1290.
