About the Story

Blessing lives in a small village with her family. She likes having space and keeping things for herself, even from her little sister Mary. But when Mary finds a coin and uses it to buy donuts, she surprises Blessing by sharing — even giving one to their grandmother.

That day, Blessing learns that God wants us to give cheerfully. She prays for help to share what she has, and later shows her new heart by giving her father the last piece of meat at dinner. Blessing realizes that it’s more joyful to give than to keep things for herself.
